Importing audio - by: Pamela Besteder

In the old version of SermonSpeaker...
1. I uploaded the mp3 to my media folder
2. I then used the drop down next to the file name to choose that mp3 from the folder. (see image)


Since I upgraded....there is no longer a drop down arrow to get the files from my folder. It seems I have to manually type it in??? (see image)

I am experimenting with SermonSpeaker for my first client who wants to have audio and video versions of its sermons on-line. I have uploaded the audio file to the server but the church uses Vimeo for its videos. I have the default set to video. I have the player option set to Vimeo (the only way I can get the video to work). I see that the toggle works on the sermon list page, but it does not appear on the Single Sermon page. I can't find the toggle for this view in the SermonSpeaker options. Is there a setting I am overlooking?

Let's say all your sermons have audio, but for the sake of storage and bandwidth usage, you only keep video for the four most recent sermons. If you have SermonSpeaker configured for iTunes, does it provide iTunes with the URLs for audio files,, video files or both?

http:200 error on sermon uploads - by: William Osborn

We just moved the following website to a new server, and while the upload limits in the server's PHP configuration are high enough to allow the upload of the sermons, we are getting the "HTTP:error 200", upon the completion of the upload. We did some research and discovered that sometimes this error is caused by the server's Session variable not being enabled, but session support appears to be enabled. Have you encountered this situation before?
It seems to be a server problem because we can't upload images via a Joomla component such as extPlorer.

Hello everyone, new to this site and help is needed. I have been very impressed with sermonspeaker over the years and have it on our current site (www.transfigurationchurch.org) and the page listing the sermons is found under the Archives button which is under the rotating pictures. I am currently totally upgrading the site (transfig2.premiernetworks.net) which is on the Joomla 3 platform this time.

When you look at the sermons on the old page you will see that the sermons are listed in the article with the player. This was done in the article as such {sermon speaker 4,2} with the number 2 meaning the type player. When I try this on our new site, the site does not load at all, just a blank white page. The way I have it now, does work but the fonts don't really look good and we really don't like it. We really want to go back to a single page like before. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. I'm trying to understand the AWS integration. How does it work? Is there any difference in the behavior of a file stored on my website vs. one stored on AWS? When I tried it years ago, I seem to remember that pressing the SermonSpeaker PLAY button wouldn't work on the website if they file was stored on AWS. Have those sort of issues been resolved?

How can I change the order of a list of multiple series under a single speaker? It appears to be ordering by date ascending. My default order is date descending, and it works perfectly for a list of sermons on any layout; I just cannot get a list of series under a single speaker to sort properly.

I am probably missing something obvious...

Dear Thomas,
We want to able to show the following MP3 audio details, along file size and length information.
1. Bit rate in kbps
2. Sampling rate in kHz
3. Channels, mono vs stereo
The purpose showing them is for us to check if the correct format was stored in library.
Would you kindly consider?

gibt es eine Möglichkeit, das Modul anzupassen? Ich würde gerne ein Bild des Predigers anzeigen lassen.
Und lässt sich ein Text ändern/anpassen? Oder gibt es vielleicht die Möglichkeit, die Tags in einem eigenen Modul (Leeres Modul) einzubinden?

Series order for accordian - by: The Journey

If you go to my site under www.JourneyBoise.com you'll see under "Weekly Messages" I'm using the Accordian layout. For some reason I can't get it to order anything. I want the last series to display first of course but it's clear at the end of the list. Is there a way to make this happen. I've set the default order on the options section to ascending, descending, title, date or ordering and nothing seems to change. Is there another place to control this order I've looked under the menu item and pretty thoroughly through SermonSpeaker and I'm not finding anything.

Hi there,

I am very new at all of this, but I am the webmaster for our church site. I have just finished upgrading and I am having trouble getting our podcasts to play. When I enable the plug in, I keep getting the message: Error No matching player found. Can you please give me some advice on how to fix this?

Bit of a rant here so before I get into it let me say that I love SermonSpeaker and I appreciate very much all the hard work everyone puts in to this extension.
The SermonArchive module seems a bit redundant since its functionality is essentially provided by the filter fields and it doesn't actually handle archived sermons. I would expect (and what I want) the module to behave more like archived Joomla articles do. So, the module would display sermons that have actually been archived, a component view for archived sermons, the rss feed wouldn't include archived sermons and the Xmap plugin wouldn't map archived sermons (the Xmap plugin behaves as I would expect).
Right now, the SermonArchive module only displays published sermons, not archived sermons, witch makes the name of the module a bit of a misnomer and the feature to mark sermons as archived is pointless.

ich bekomme die folgende Meldung im SermonSpeaker: COM_SERMONSPEAKER_PLAYER_DEPRECATED. Auch wenn ich den Player ändere, verschwindet diese Meldung nicht. Was muss ich tun??

Hi Thomas - back again with another small query (hopefully), I've hunted everywhere to see if there was a way to change how many sermons are shown when people land on the page as it seems if you're unaware, you may think there are only 10 or 20 or whatever is in the Default number and once that's set it stays until you change it again? (It shows 15 for me in one browser and All in the other. )



Also would it be possible to point me in the right direction for where I could insert some text onto that landing page - so that I could direct visitors to check out such things if they're also unsure etc?

Latest Sermon module "misbehavior" - by: William Osborn

I am running the latest versions of Sermon Speaker and Latest Sermons on many different church sites. In the past, the link generated for the sermon title on all of the church sites has been:

pecs.golgota.hu/index.php/hu/component/s...-20-20-12?Itemid=412

In this website (and the others), it replaces the Image rotator which is assigned to the home menu item, with the player.

However, on another site, it is now generating the following link:
baja.golgota.hu/index.php?option=com_ser...-16-16-33&Itemid=101
which places the player underneath the image rotator, which is not desirable. I have compared settings and can't figure out what changed to cause this behavior (this second site used to behave like the first example).
Your thoughts?

Hi

I have moved to a new website and have successfully moved all my sermons for the last 3 years to the new one! WhooHoo

The problem is now on the new site....the hit counter is not changing when someone listens to the sermon.

The new sermons included since the move to the new site...all say 0 even though they've been listened to.

The old sermons moved from the old site all have the sale hit number even though they've been listened to.

How can I fix this?
